Lake Blue Ridge is a reservoir in northern Georgia located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The charming town of Blue Ridge is west of the lake, bearing restaurants, stores, and hotels.

Chattanooga Airport or Cobb County International Airport is equally 75 miles from Blue Ridge Lake. Chattanooga is also home to the CHI Memorial Hospital and other big-city facilities.

Lake Blue Ridge is one of Georgia's favorite recreational destinations. It covers 3,300 acres and has a maximum depth of 250 feet.

Eighty percent of its 60-mile shoreline is located within the Chattahoochee National Forest. The area boasts over 90 national forest campsites, a marina, several boat ramps, and a public swimming and picnic location.

Water Recreation of All Kinds

Lake Blue Ridge is open to the public for boating, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, kayaking, and plenty of other fun activities.

Bass, walleye, and bluegill are the most sought-after sport fish in the lake. Water that exits the dam becomes the Toccoa River, a hotspot for trout fishing in the area.

A few miles downstream in Tennessee, the Toccoa becomes the Ocoee, home to world-class kayaking and whitewater rafting, perfect for those looking for adventure!

Explorers can hike or bike the Chattahoochee National Forest trails, featuring panoramic mountain views, hidden waterfalls, and wildlife sightings.

Attractions of Blue Ridge and Chattanooga

Have a fun family outing at Blue Ridge's Fannin Lanes Bowling Alley, Swan Drive-In, or Blue Ridge Amusement Park.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway trails 26 miles across northern Georgia, featuring some of the state's most beautiful landscapes. A few of Chattanooga's most celebrated attractions are Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga Zoo, Ruby Falls, The Tennessee Aquarium, and Rock City Gardens.

At Mercier Orchards, a 65-year-old family orchard, you can choose fruits cultivated nearby. You can also play a round of golf at Old Toccoa Farm, the first and only course in Fannin County with 4,000+ feet of Toccoa River frontage. Blue Ridge also has several stores with something unique brought to each one.

There are local antique shops, along with an art museum too! There is also a bakery that is a Cupcake Wars winner, The Sweet Shoppe of Blue Ridge, which is nationally renowned for its amazing cupcakes and handcrafted delicacies. If you are thirsty after dessert, there is a wine merchant in the area as well.
